Lion "Big Al" Kassin, with his wife Lioness Elsie at his side, founded Bear Lake Camp, which eventually became a Lions Club State Project. Lion Al was a true mentor to many Lions, with whom he had many conversations about the camp and Lionism in general. During one of those conversations, we learned that he had two goals before leaving this life. One was to be a Lion for fifty years, which he surpassed. The other was to see the mortgage paid off on the Bear Lake Camp property, and he wished he had the energy to go out and raise the necessary funds.
Though Lion Big Al has left this life, we would like to make his second wish come true. Your contributions will go toward the mortgage owed on the camp, and if we raise more than what is owing there, additional funds will go toward improvements to the camp.
More information about Lions Bear Lake Camp: We provide opportunities for persons of special needs to obtain outdoor skills barrier free, to gain self confidence and independence, and increase ones capacity. Participants became members of a caring community and acquire constructive social skills. We provide our services at no to small fees. This is possible thanks to the donations of Lions, Lioness Clubs, foundations and caring individuals.
