Bifrontal Craniotomy (brain surgery)

Aloha everyone!!! Unfortunately, I recently found out I had a benign meningioma. Those are big words for a non-cancerous brain tumor. Having surgeons do a bifrontal craniotomy, basically approaching it from my forehead.
On November 8th, two days after my 37th bday, I went to work and felt my head rush as if I stood up too fast. The next thing I knew, I was in the ambulance with everyone asking me questions I couldn't answer. I fell into a seizure.
They took me straight to Wilcox to begin the process of testing. CAT scans, blood work, and MRI showed I had a bigger-than-golf ball tumor in my brain. I had no idea I had this. For the size of it, I had no symptoms.
Surgery was scheduled for November 17th.
It took 8 hours to operate. I woke up so thankful the team got it out in one piece. I was stitched and stapled, not to mention the screws too! I lost my sense of smell and taste, hoping it would return within time.
I will check every six months for a year, then once a year, to ensure it doesn't grow back.
I'm asking for help with my medical bills. I am so so thankful for anything. I'm out of work for a while, healing. TDI isn't enough to survive with my regular household bills.
This has opened my eyes to how precious life is. And thank goodness it was benign. I know we are all struggling, so don't feel obligated. I am grateful to share my story and say mahalo for reading! Listen to your body and get checked out if you feel like something is different! You never know!
