Hello, my name is Lucille Bifano. My husband, Biff (John), was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease 12 years ago. This disease damaged his kidneys until they could no longer function. In April of 2020, Biff began dialysis, and the testing also started for a kidney transplant. On the way to the transplant, he had several medical obstacles to overcome, which he did. These Included a triple bypass surgery in November of 2020. We received the long awaited phone call today, October 20, 2022, that a donor kidney was available. Just 3 weeks ago, Hurricane Ian devastated our community. The money saved to take care of housing and other costs while we are in Tampa is now being used for our deductible to repair our home.
