I am the daughter of an extremely strong woman, and I am here to ask for help. Bielka, a 54-year-old single mom, was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer only a few days ago. A mom who has spent her entire life caring for others. She worked as a nanny, caring for twins and triplets. She has worked as a caregiver, caring for others' grandparents, parents, and disabled sons or daughters. She has always spent her life ensuring everyone else is cared for, most importantly me. She worked hard while I was growing up, never took a day off, never rested. She wanted to ensure I was cared for in every possible way, never wanting nor needing for anything.
Now is her greatest time of need, our greatest time of need. I need help for my mom in the days and months to come. I work night shift as a patient care technician in a hospital, and although I know my mom will keep trying to push through and work while she endures the brutal process of chemo and radiation, she will not be able to put in 100% of herself like she always does. I hope to have her under my care while she takes the time she needs to recover and rest after every treatment. She will eventually have to undergo surgery, and that will be when she needs me the most. I hope to do everything in my power to be there for her in every way possible.
But what we need help with the most is financial help—financial help with medical bills, medical supplies, medications, and hopefully it doesn't come to this, but maybe even financial help to assist with normal everyday life things, such as groceries, transportation (to and from treatment), rent, etc. It's difficult for us to ask for help, but we have to be realistic. She is about to endure so much, and her focus needs to be on staying strong and her fight. The last thing I want her to worry about is everything outside of her fight. We would appreciate any help that is offered, no matter how small the amount. Every little bit will help. We thank you greatly for any donations made. Truly, thank you.
