Help Bidrussian Family Recover

It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that the Bidrussian family’s jewelry store—proudly rooted in the heart of Glendale for over 45 years—was the target of a devastating and highly organized burglary on Memorial Day weekend, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
This small, family-owned business is more than a store. It is a legacy—founded by Manail Bidrussian’s parents and passed down with love, sacrifice, and resilience. For nearly half a century, it has stood as a pillar in the community, serving generations with trust and care.
To Manail, this wasn’t just a career—it was a sacred promise. Years ago, as his father’s health declined, Manail made a vow to carry on the family business. He promised to preserve what his parents built with their own hands—through hardship, war, immigration, and relentless work. It was a promise made not just out of duty, but from the deepest place of love, respect, and pride. That promise became his life’s purpose.
Early Tuesday morning, when Manail arrived to open the shop, he immediately sensed something was wrong. The store lights were on, and the back office door was shut—something didn’t feel right. Out of caution, he contacted Glendale Police before entering. What followed was a massive emergency response, including multiple Glendale PD units, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the bomb squad, and two firefighter trucks.
The investigation revealed a calculated and professional burglary. The criminals had entered through the roof, cutting with precision, and used torch guns to melt through reinforced safes. In a matter of hours, they had stolen the entire inventory—45 years of hard work, memories, and the foundation of a family’s livelihood—gone, just like that.
And yet, under the dust and rubble, amidst the destruction and heartbreak, one small piece of gold remained untouched: a tiny necklace, shaped like a child kneeling in prayer. It was as if the universe had left behind a message—not everything is lost.
That little pendant, no bigger than a coin, now carries more weight than anything that was taken. In it, we see innocence, hope, and faith. A quiet reminder that even in the darkest moments, something pure and sacred can endure. Perhaps it was left behind as a sign—that this family, this legacy, and this love cannot be stolen.
This is more than a financial loss. It’s a devastating blow to a man who kept a promise, who upheld his father’s dream, and who poured his soul into continuing something that meant everything to his family.
But Manail is not just a business owner—he’s a mentor, a father, a coach, and a role model. He volunteers as a basketball coach at both the local YMCA and with Homenetmen, an organization focused on youth development, athletics, and leadership. He has given back tirelessly to the youth of Glendale, helping to shape lives on and off the court.
Now, it’s our turn to stand by him.
I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my brother-in-law, Manail Bidrussian, and his family. His wife, Lily, is my sister, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the love, resilience, and unwavering dedication they’ve poured into their business, their family, and their community.
On behalf of the Bidrussian family, we humbly ask for your support. Every donation—no matter the size—will help them begin to recover from this unimaginable loss. Your kindness and prayers mean more than words can ever express.
The Bidrussians have been a part of this community for over four decades. Today, they need us more than ever. All, 100% of the donations will be going to Manail Bidrussian and his family to rebuild their family business.
With heartfelt gratitude,
