Dr. Roy B. Blizzard is now in his upper 80's and has several health problems that requires immediate attention. No longer able to travel and lecture, his sources of income have been severely reduced to the point of needing assistance. Some of his health issues include cancer, hearing, and dental work.  He needs to maintain his cancer treatments, obtain quality hearing aids, and have severe dental work. Oral hygiene is now recognized as essential to health and well-being.

Dr. Roy B. Blizzard is President of Bible Scholars, a Texas based corporation dedicated to biblical research and education. He is the co-author of Understanding the Difficult Words of Jesus which established the necessity of using Hebrew to understand the New Testament synoptic gospels. He has since authored several other books such as Tithing Giving and Prosperity, Mishnah and the Words of Jesus, The Bible Sex and You, The Mountain of the Lord, and his latest book Understanding the Difficult Passages in the Bible.

A native of Joplin, Missouri, Dr. Blizzard attended Oklahoma Military Academy and has a B.A. degree from Philips University in Enid, Oklahoma. From 1968 to June 1974, he was an instructor in Hebrew, Biblical History and Biblical Archaeology at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Blizzard studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, in the summer of 1966. In the summer of 1973, he worked on the archaeological excavations at Tel Qasile, where he excavated a Philistine Temple dating from 1200 B.C. In 1968, 1971 and 1972, he worked on the excavations at the Western Wall, or "Wailing Wall," at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and led one of the teams in the discovery of the Trumpeting Place inscription that was originally in the southwest corner of the Temple wall above Robinson's Arch while assisting Benjamin Mazar.

Since then, Dr. Blizzard has spent much of his time in Israel and the Middle East in study and research. He was a licensed guide in Israel and has directed numerous Historical and Archaeological Study Seminars to Israel, as well as to Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Italy.

Dr. Blizzard hosted over 500 television programs about Israel and Judaism for various television networks and was a frequent television and radio guest.

Please consider performing what is known in Hebrew as gemilut chasidim, acts of loving-kindness to this wonderful Bible scholar.
