Hello! My name is Kate and I am a friend of Camden and Joseph. This GoFundMe is to help them gather funds for a much-needed sabbatical this coming summer in which they can rest as a family in the Canadian woods and take seminary classes. $6000 is their goal which would be used to cover their housing while away for two months. Along with financial support, they could also use our prayer!
Please read Camden's letter below:
Dear friends and family,
Greetings from the Bianco family! We are well but a bit weary. We are writing to ask for your support in our future ministry work.
Some highlights of the past 9 years of ministry: Joseph became an Associate pastor in 2020. We have been blessed with three vibrant, smart, healthy children who are a delight and keep us on our toes. We have loved Pittsburgh and our church, City Reformed, and feel loved and cared for by our communities here. Both sides of our families have moved to Pittsburgh so we have also enjoyed the blessing of family nearby. Camden has been blessed in her work as a professional counselor and artist.
Joseph has seen successful ministry over the past 9 years in the areas of teaching/preaching, pastoral counseling, working with New Hope (men’s sexual addiction group), overseeing our community groups, starting an evening service for the church, and also starting our men’s discipleship program.
The hardest season of ministry was 2020 (not surprisingly). That year Joseph had long-Covid which by God’s grace he recovered from a year and a half later. That said, the season of 2020-2021 took a toll on us that neither of us have fully recovered from.
Thankfully our session has granted Joseph a sabbatical and we have decided to go to the woods of Canada. Joseph will have time to take several seminary classes which he is excited about, as well as time to rest and revive as a family for a period of time. Our goal is to use this time to prepare for the next 10 years of ministry.
We are hoping to raise about $6000 which would cover our housing for two months away. We can cover the rest of the travel expenses but the housing is what would help us actually get away for a time. It is our hope to be a family equipped “for a lifetime of ministry”--as was our seminary motto–which we very much see this rest and education time as helping us towards that goal.
Please pray for us as we prepare for this sabbatical. Pray for rest, abiding in the Lord as a family, prayer for peaceful travel, and for the resources to be provided.
We love you all and hold you in our hearts,
Joseph and Camden Bianco
