Hello and welcome! My name is Bianca and I have been rescuing, fostering, and caring for abandoned, abused, and stray cats for over 15 years with a specific focus on the "unadoptable." In that time I've been blessed to have saved and helped many dozens of little friends in need, and fortunate enough to cover all expenses out of my own pocket.
Unfortunately, I now find myself unemployed with seven cats in my care. Several have medical conditions and five of those seven are seniors. This is their home and I am their human, to rehome them or surrender them to a shelter would be cruel and is not something I will consider unless I am also in danger of becoming homeless. With that in mind, we need your help to keep providing them with the care they deserve. Below I've written brief biographies for each of our kitties, and hope that you'll help us through this rough patch. Thank you for visiting, sharing this page, and donating!
UPDATE 10/1/2025: Everyone is gratefully healthy for the moment. Oliver's pancreatitis is gone and miraculously his diabetes appears to be in remission. We've recently had an abandoned kitten added to the menagerie. Her name is tentatively Jinx and she's a lovely and healthy little girl. Unfortunately this does add to our expenses as she's going to need her shots and a spay as soon as possible.
UPDATE 5/3/2025: Oliver is home and resting comfortably. The total bill for his stay was just under $1,700. We'll definitely need all the help we can get, and I'm grateful for all of the donations and boosts this fundraiser has gotten so far. Thank you!
UPDATE 5/2/2025: Oliver will be coming home from the vet today. He's been receiving IV fluids all week and the vet says he's doing very well. Perhaps miraculously, his diabetes may have gone into remission as routine checks of his glucose levels are all falling within normal range.
UPDATE 4/30/2025: Oliver has his ultrasound yesterday. The good news is that they found no masses on his pancreas, the bad news is that his pancreas is severely inflamed and he will be spending the rest of the week in hospital receiving IV fluids and medication to try to keep him hydrated and reduce the inflammation. The estimated cost for this visit is approximately $1,800. All donations will be put towards this expense first and foremost.
Biographies:
Lily - A lavender pointed sweetheart. Lily is 15 years old and was rescued as a kitten from a barn whose owner was threatening to put down all of the barn cats and kittens. Lily is a sweet girl and full of purrs, who is obsessed with earlobes and always trying to steal sweets from the humans. Lily is currently diagnosed with a heart murmur, high blood pressure, and kidney disease. She receives a special diet and daily infusions of lactated ringer's solution to address her conditions and will need an ultrasound soon to check her heart function.
Oliver - Our sweet void kitty, he and his brother Felix were born in the closet of my spare bedroom 14 years ago. Their mother, who recently crossed the rainbow bridge, sought shelter on my back porch in 2011, pregnant with a litter of four. Oliver is a sweet boy who loves scritches, belly rubs, and napping in the sun. Though diabetic this appears to have gone into remission for the time being.
Felix - A black and white tuxedo tabby. Felix is, like his brother, 14 years old and gratefully without medical issues. He is a sweet and silly cat who loves to curl up and sleep next to his brother. Though his mother weighed barely over 6-7 pounds, Felix is a giant by comparison at 16 lbs!
Ripley - Our chatty, grey and white tuxedo tabby and Lily's sister. Ripley is 15 years old and was rescued from the same barn as Lily. Besides being the resident conversationalist, Ripley is always purring and still enjoys a case of the zoomies, playing with string, catnip mice, and has developed a strange need to open our kitchen drawers. Ripley has diabetes and early stage kidney disease, and receives a special diet and insulin twice daily.
Andy - The black and white harlequin tuxedo and resident prima donna. Andy is approximately 11 years old, also quite playful and chatty, and likes to complain. Andy was taken in at a shelter where I volunteered, having been declawed by his previous keeper and then abandoned. Several years after, I opted to remove him from shelter, where he was deemed to be too antisocial to adopt and was slated to be sent to live in a barn. I felt this was unacceptable due to the harshness of barn life and his lack of front claws. Though missing his claws and one of his fangs, Andy is thankfully perfectly healthy.
Iggy - A long-haired, brown tabby, Iggy is approximately 7 years old and is very playful though socially challenged. He was brought into the same shelter as Andy, after being found outdoors during the winter. Iggy suffered significant frostbite and neurological damage and had to have part of his tail amputated. Unfortunately, this also likely contributed to his social difficulties and, as we later learned, epilepsy. The shelter deemed him unadoptable and was going to have Iggy euthanized, but I stepped in to take him home and care for him. Iggy receives phenobarbital and levetiracetam for his condition, and is otherwise healthy though due for annual bloodwork.
Jinx - A long haired dilute tortoiseshell. Jinx was abandoned with us by a young couple who were unable to find suitable living arrangements to allow the keeping of a cat. She is healthy but will need her initial visit to the vet for shots and a spay.
