Bianca's Artist Residency, Portugal
Donation protected
Hi friends, I am embarking upon a one month artist residency at Cerdeira Village, Portugal beginning August 28, 2015. Those of you who know me, know that I am a commited artist. I have made a conscious decision to cut back on job opportunities that do not relate to art in order to provide the time needed to pursue my passion. This has led me to Cerdeira to further my exploration in 3D collage/mixed media.
I will be working on a series of panels focusing on my surrounding landscape, translating it emotionally and physically in an abstract fashion. I will also be teaching a workshop on the qualities of mixed media, focusing on how various materials relate to one another in texture, color, shape, composition, and how they affix and survive through varying climates and translate in differing light qualities and settings. This workshop will result in one collaborative piece utilizing materials I have purchased, collected, recycled and whatever materials my peers/students choose to contribute.
I am really looking forward to learning about my fellow artists' process and how the series I have begun in North Carolina can develop in a foreign enclave, laden with environmental and cultural variance. Being able to solely dedicate myself to my art, sans life's daily pressures will only make it richer. In order to do this, I need help. Therefore, I am asking for contributions. Thank you for your time in reading this.
All friends and donors will be invited to a private show at Tar Heel Manor in October!! Entertainment will be provided!!
