Bia was run over and needs our support!

Olá comunidade brasileira e irlandesa,

Essa campanha é para apoiar a nossa amiga Beatriz, que veio junto com seu esposo Rafael fazer intercâmbio em Cork, realizar sonhos e objetivos nesta Ilha e sofreu um terrível acidente.

Em 23 de Fevereiro, sexta-feira, por volta das 12:30pm, estava voltando do seu trabalho de scooter pela faixa de ciclista e na S Douglas Rd infelizmente foi atropelada.

Bia se recorda que um caminhão pequeno se aproximou e o motorista foi dando seta abruptamente (pois iria entrar em uma rua à esquerda que não tinha semáforo), porém ele não a esperou passar (que estava mais a frente que o caminhão). Como já não tinha mais tempo, tentou frear e desesperada acompanhou o caminhão virando também à esquerda. Porém, não havia mais espaço o que provocou a batida e acabou caindo embaixo do caminhão que passou por cima de seu corpo.

Apesar de estar bem equipada com touca, capacete, jaquetas, luvas e botas, não foi suficiente a proteção e devido a gravidade do acidente está nesse momento internada no Cork University Hospital.

Bia fraturou 6 costelas (sendo que uma delas foi fraturada em dois lugares), teve uma leve perfuração no pulmão, fraturou o púbis (na região pélvica), fraturou a escápula, fraturou o nariz e teve uma leve hemorragia no cérebro.

Ela aguarda uma resposta de um hospital de Dublin para saber se será necessário uma cirurgia na região pélvica, que só é feita em Dublin.

Não tem previsão de alta e terá longos meses de recuperação em casa junto com fisioterapia, medicamentos e com o apoio de amigos que encontrou por aqui e da família que, mesmo distante, está em oração pelo seu restabelecimento!

Seu esposo Rafael está atrás dos direitos legais, porém a Garda já informou que o parecer deles pode demorar até 6 meses!

Por tudo que foi relatado, Bia precisa da nossa união para conseguir arcar com as despesas médicas e financeiras, já que ficará meses afastada do trabalho e da escola.

Vamos nos unir e ajudar nossa querida amiga para que possa se recuperar e se manter durante esse tempo e desse modo consiga retomar os seus estudos e o trabalho.

Qualquer doação, fará muita diferença. E para isso contamos com essa comunidade caridosa que está na Ilha!

Hello Brazilian and Irish community,

This campaign is to support our friend Beatriz, who came with her husband Rafael to do an exchange in Cork, fulfilling her dreams and goals on this Island and suffered a terrible accident.

On February 23rd, Friday, at around 12:30pm, she was returning from work on her scooter via the cycle lane and on S Douglas Rd she was unfortunately hit by a car.

Bia remembers that a small truck approached and the driver abruptly turned the signal (as he was going to enter a street on the left that didn't have a traffic light), but he didn't wait for her to pass (which was further ahead than the truck). As she no longer had time, she tried to brake and desperately followed the truck, also turning left. However, there was no more space, which caused the crash and ended up falling under the truck that passed over her body.

Although she was well equipped with a cap, helmet, jackets, gloves and boots, the protection wasn't enough and due to the severity of the accident she's currently admitted to Cork University Hospital.

Bia fractured 6 ribs (one of which was fractured in two places), had a slight puncture in her lung, fractured her pubis (in the pelvic region), fractured her scapula, fractured her nose and had a slight hemorrhage in the brain.

She's awaiting a response from a Dublin hospital to find out whether surgery on the pelvic region will be necessary, which is only performed in Dublin.

She isn't expected to be discharged and will have long months of recovery at home along with physiotherapy, medication and the support of friends she found here and family who, even far away, are praying for her recovery!

Your husband Rafael is pursuing his legal rights, however the Garda have advised that their opinion could take up to 6 months!

Due to everything that has been reported, Bia needs our union to be able to cover the medical and financial expenses, as she will be away from work and school for months.

Let's come together and help our dear friend so that she can recover and maintain herself during this time and that way she can resume her studies and work.
