Hello family and friends, for those of you who don't know, I am currently on my gap year between high school and university. I wanted to make the most of my time off, and not only did I aspire to do something I'd enjoy, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and do something impactful as well. Bhubesi Pride ticked all of these boxes for me.
For 6 weeks, I will be travelling around townships across Namibia and South Africa with 'Bhubesi Pride', a not for profit organization that focuses on harnessing the power of sport, in this case rugby, and using it to unite, empower, and inspire the local communities.
As a member of the organization, I will be teaching kids the game, and all the values and virtues that accompany it, whilst also organizing tournaments for the kids to participate in.
Like I have stated, Bhubesi Pride is a not for profit, and all members must entirely self fund their journey. This is why I am writing to you to ask for sponsorship, aiding me to participate in this fantastic cause. It is something I truly believe in. As Nelson Mandela, an avid fan of the game himself, said "“Sport has the power to change the world, the power to inspire, the power to unite people in a way that little else can.”
