Send BHSEC Quizbowl to Nationals

Since its founding just over a year ago, the Bard High School Early College Quizbowl team has gone from complete unknown to a major competitor on the NYC Tri-State circuit. We have finished in the top five in our last three tournaments, and our captain, Max Shatan, has been top scorer overall at two tournaments so far this season. Currently, our team is ranked 82nd in the world and 2nd in New York City. We all cherish this club, a bonding factor in our lives, and a source of pride and accomplishment for both us and our school.

Through a combination of hard work and a love of knowledge and trivia, our team has been fortunate enough to qualify for both the PACE National Scholastic Championship in Washington, DC and the High School National Championship Tournament in Atlanta. In addition, Max is planning on attending the Individual Player National Championship Tournament in Chicago. Unfortunately, our school only provided us with approximately $450 this year — not even enough to cover our regular tournament fees. Our entire team is made up of seniors, so this is our last year to attend these National tournaments, and we really want to go out on a high note. Donations will go to funding these trips, and any overflow will go into the club’s funds for next year. As an upstart club, your support means the world to us, and will help our club out immensely.
