Shortly after Grace's 2nd birthday she was diagnosed with a large tumor in the right ventricle of her brain. Through the next several months life seemed to stand still and a miracle started to take form before our very eyes. The events that unfolded that saved Grace's life and brought her to where she is today humble and amaze all of us and forever will. Grace underwent two surgeries, each over ten hours and spent nearly two months in and out of Children's Hospital in St. Paul.
There were many tough days and nights during this process. These days and nights were made easier, and more comfortable because of the people and groups of people that we met along the way. It is because of their compassion and what they provided, deliberate or not, and the difference they made in Grace's experience that we decided to start " The Amazing Grace Foundation."
We are blessed with the life and full recovery of Grace who is now a happy and healthy 4 year old and want to show thanks in hope that we too can make a difference in the life of other families who are walking the same path that we once did. The comfort of a soft blanket may seem insignificant in our everyday lives but in a moment when you feel like you have no control over the fate and future of what you care about the most, it does. Being able to offer a tiny bit of comfort in a moment of unknown made a huge difference in Grace's journey and we want to provide others the ability to offer the same.
"The Amazing Grace Foundation" will accept donations to support some of the tiny bits of comfort that might make the day a little better. We are committed to making blankets for the patients that have to spend a night or two away from their bed, to helping keep the shelves stocked at The Ronald McDonald House, and to keeping the prize chest full for the brave little ones leaving their appointments.
We will be forever greatful for the caring, kindness, and compassion that was given to our "Amazing Grace." Please help us continue to show our thanks and gratitude by prioviding a tiny bit of comfort to those in need.
