Hi, My name Is Rob Schroeder,

Last August 2024, My Youngest Sisters son, my Nephew Josh, was diagnosed with B Cell ALL. Unfortunately it was a very aggressive form and in a 7 month heroic battle with both the disease and complications arising from the very treatment that was supposed to save him, Josh succumbed to the disease in February this year, although not before marrying his long time Partner Lauren in ICU on the 20th December after a special license was granted, as well as welcoming his son Finley, who arrived on Josh's 25th Birthday on the 7th January 2025

Just 6 weeks later Josh caught sepsis from one of his PICC lines and passed away on Sunday 23rd February.

During Josh's 7 month stay on The Teen and Young Adults ward in the BHOC (Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre) which is located behind Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) the admin and nursing staff, became firm friends to my nephew and his entire family, they helped in so many ways from emotional therapy to financial help from a variety of charities and governmental help so that bills were not an extra worry for him whilst he was in hospital, to gift cards for food and drinks in the hospital shops, they were tireless in their efforts

and we would like to raise money to donate to the ward so that they can continue to help other families who have found themselves in the same position along with equipment to help the kids and their families have a more pleasant stay whilst on the ward.

To enable us to do this I have decided to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End over a 2 week period from May 15th 2026.
