I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and a plea for help. My husband was involved in a head on collision on June 11, 2025. By the grace of God, he survived, but the impact has left him with significant injuries and challenges. The inability to work has added to his stress, as bills continue to pile up.
On July 22, 2025 at 8:03pm, I had to call 911. Jason suffered a cardiac arrest. I immediately started CPR until police and paramedics arrived. Jason was without oxygen for over 45 minutes. When he arrived at the hospital they had to shock him 3 times and was placed on life support and eventually was put on 24 hr dialysis.
As a result of the cardiac arrest, Jason has developed two pulmonary embolisms in his right lung, and one in his leg, and suspected embolism in his heart, which is functioning at around 10%.
Jason is now breathing on his own and has been taken off dialysis. However, he has lost his memory due to the brain damage from lack of oxygen he had from his cardiac arrest. He recognizes some of his family, but not all of them. His condition remains too fragile for a heart cath to repair his function.
Update August 1, 2025, Jason had a CT scan of his arteries on July 31, 2025. He does have two blockages in his heart. One in his left coronary and his one in his right coronary.
The doctor is recommending that Jason needs a month or two of rest to see if his brain recovers. Then the doctor would ask him if he wants to take the risk of heart surgery.
We have made him a picture collage of his family and everyday we go over who is in the pictures with him to help him remember.
He has his good days or and his bad days. We have a long road ahead of us still.
