Help us help our friend…
There are so many programs and resources for the homeless community in Palm Springs. One’s situation does not justify stealing somebody else’s property.
There comes a time when all of us lay in a deathbed...a time when most of us will have feelings of sincere remorse. Perhaps some never will...but then there is that lil thing called “karma.” From the video footage we have, it is clear that the thief didn’t think twice of the frustration/feeling of hopelessness he would be causing.
We are sad and frustrated over the theft of our mechanic’s truck.
Bruce is a kind, hard working man and this puts him in a precarious position as he must commute from Joshua tree to Palm Springs for work. Bruce & his dear pet “Nellie,” make the trip to provide his excellent mechanic skills for our BIKE Palm Springs guests. He has never asked for more than he works hard for.
The truck was found today, and while we are all grateful that is the case-the thief trashed the inside, broke the front and rear windows, damaged the bumper from getting hit on the drivers side most likely by crashing into something and left it behind somewhere in Indio. The truck was towed to a yard and he had to pay $350 plus dollars to retrieve it and it’s not even running now.
All of us at BIKE Palm Springs have committed to making his situation easier to deal with by making a contribution. While we have made a donation ourselves we ask for your help. Whether big or small, if you can spare a dollar, or two, or maybe three... please do so. Help us to restore faith in human kindness and unexpected generosity.
