Hello, my name is Jady and I am in desperate need of funds to secure housing and handle other essential needs for me and my child. Jaiyana, my daughter, is one year old and I am a single parent. I gave birth to my daughter in Florida, but in order to flee the domestic abuse I was suffering at the hands of her biological father,  I moved to Texas to live with my parents and for a while everything seemed fine. After a tumultuous pregnancy that involved emotional, verbal, physical, and sexual abuse, I needed my family’s support for the betterment of mine and Jaiyana’s life. Sadly, the support was disingenuous and my parents created a habit of overstepping when it comes to my child. My mom and I recently got into a domestic dispute about my daughter and she called the police in an attempt to get me arrested. I planned a day trip and found a babysitter for my daughter, but only after my parents told me they couldn’t watch her. The morning I had to drop her off, they begged and pleaded with me to keep her because they “don’t want her with someone we don’t know”-mind you I met and vetted her babysitter accordingly, and made sure my baby was comfortable with her before solidifying my plans. I tried to ignore my mother’s begging, but she started to remove my child’s stuff from the trunk of a car they bought me for my birthday. When I put the things back and slammed the door, my mother accused me of assaulting her and called the police, threatening to send me to jail. She also placed herself in the car with my child and I to prevent me from leaving, then she told me that if I left she would report my car as stolen because it is in her name. The police came and they told me I did nothing unlawful and my mother could actually go to jail for trying to restrain me. I left as planned under supervision of the police for mine and my daughter’s protection and I have not been back home since, not even to retrieve things for me and my daughter. This is not the first time my mother has violated me in this way and I cannot raise my child in such chaos.
