Hope and Healing for a Wounded Sheriff’s Deputy
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and those of kind heart!
I'm Daniel Skeen, a former sheriff's deputy and volunteer firefighter/EMT from Lassen County in rural northern California. On September 11, 2020, while on duty searching for a fugitive escaped inmate, I suffered severe spinal injuries, altering my life permanently. The injuries, including multiple spinal fractures and disc damage, have led to ongoing pain as well as contributing to serious neurological issues which put me at risk of stroke and aneurysm.
Recovery has been challenging. Despite my determination, my attempts to return to work on light duty were unsuccessful, placing me in the hospital. I will never be able to serve in law enforcement again but I have faith that God still has a plan for me. I am now stable and strong enough that I am able to focus on what is next for me in life. I am committed to doing something with dignity which will allow me to provide for myself and my young son.
I am seeking your support to assist me in providing for myself and my son during this time and to help me retrain for a new career within my physical limitations. I'm currently pursuing and further exploring IT programs, including certifications and possibly a degree, to create a meaningful future where I can still contribute to society. Any support you can offer, whether through donations or sharing my story, is immensely appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and prayers.
GOD BLESS YOU!
