Educational Trip to China

Hi, my name is Seb. I’m 13 and I’m hoping you can help me.

During my first year at secondary school, I was given the opportunity to join the Mandarin Education Programme to learn Chinese. Since then, I have spent the past two years working hard to engage and improve my written, and spoken Chinese. The course is challenging and includes at least two hours of extra study at home in each week, on top of what I do at school. I am a bit of a perfectionist and committed to doing my best to learn Chinese. My teacher has been very impressed with my attitude and told my parents I have “No flaws” - though they may disagree

In July next year, I have the opportunity to travel to China for 2 weeks as part of an educational trip to practice my Mandarin skills in actual China! It is a once in a lifetime experience that I would love to be part of. The cost is £6,000 per student, with the Mandarin Excellence Programme funding almost two-thirds of the trip. However, I need to raise £2,000 myself in order to be able to go. Throughout the next year, I plan to do some fundraising events, such as 5km/10km runs with my dad (he runs marathons) and bake sales (as I love cooking), but would be grateful for any donations towards my educational trip.
