Hit and run survivor

"On January 3rd, 2020 my brother Sebastian was en route to SF on Highway 5  from Las Vegas. He was on his way to pick me up so we could go to a baby shower for the first set of twins in the family and around Fresno he gets a flat.

He is not able to get help because of his location and time. He sends me his coordinates so I can help. He is stuck between highway 5 and 33 ( basically the middle of nowhere) but only 2.5 hours away. I tell him I would be there as soon as possible.

As I'm heading out the door he calls me back. I didn’t think anything of it and answer.

Immediately when I answer all I hear over and over is how much he loves me. I can hear stress in Sebastian's voice and then I know something is wrong. He was in pain and I could hear it in his voice. I asked what happened and he said, 'they hit me.' My heart drops.

My mind went to the worst that my brother is alone on the side of the road, dying and this is his last moment. I asked him if he was bleeding he said his hips were numb and he wasn’t sure, I tell him to hang up and call 911 right away. Emergency 911 is called and he was airlifted to Fresno trauma hospital. He was placed in the ICU under critical conditions. After hours of uncertainty, his vitals stabilized and doctors were able to save him from what could have been a tragic end.

Doctors had to install pins in both his hips and parts of his spine. Also, his tailbone is fractured and he has deep cuts on his right forearm and left leg. He is able to talk and working toward being able to sit. He will be on disability for 8+ months, it will be a long road to full recovery. The driver never stopped or checked if he was ok. He lives in Nevada and has to relocate to Southern California to recover and be close to family.

This money will be used for Sebastian medical bills and he has a car that’s almost paid off and has other monthly expenses. Please, Anything helps and I’d appreciate it if you keep him in your prayers! He has a strong spirit but needs our help! All the best - D
