We all know, or should we know, that the media are central to the development of healthy social relations, in terms of representativeness, offering greater awareness of recognition, equality, rights, individual and social difference, thus developing a more democratic and plural in the process of normalising the diversity that sustain our society.

This is the essence that gives life to BANTUMEN. For six years, this editorial project has created space for new narratives that do justice to the diverse identity of our society.

Based in Lisbon, the digital magazine was born in 2015, assuming itself as the first digital platform for generalist communication, dedicated to the young black Portuguese-speaking community - in Europe and Africa.

BANTUMEN is an independent news publication operated by seven journalists and producers of multimedia content who, over time, provide a quality communication service to and from the community.

Our main objective with this campaign is to be able to pay decent wages to the entire newsroom, which is the locomotive of this project and, as such, we extend the invitation to all who feel like it, to contribute and help us to make this reality palpable.

If only 5% of the 200 thousand followers we add on social networks contribute with just 1 to 5 euros, we are guaranteeing at least 1 year of salaries.
