Hello friends & family of Katrina. On February 17, Katrina had a cardiac event while at work and was rushed by ambulance to UW Medical Center. This cardiac event resulted in an open heart procedure to repair a tear in her aorta. While in the hospital there were some minor set-backs that prolonged her stay & recovery. After more than three weeks in the hospital, she was finally released on 3/11.

The average recovery time for a procedure of this nature is 12 weeks. Unfortunately due to the nature of Katrina's career as a massage therapist, this time is likely to be much longer. There will be an additional procedure that has yet to be scheduled so there will be more down time at some point.

Katrina is uninsured. The out-patient appointments needed for PT, the meds needed to keep her heart healthy and other follow-up care will be costly and paid for out-of-pocket. This GoFundMe is intended to help cover those costs, cover basic living expenses while she can not work and lost wages not covered by FMLA.
