James' Story
James Lodato is your typical 6 year old fun-loving, sweet boy! He is kind, funny, handsome, and he is loved by so many. He enjoys participating on various sports teams and playing with friends. Most of all James has a big heart and he loves to be with his family. James is a resident of Wantagh and plays for many local sports teams including LSW baseball, PAL basketball & soccer, football and lacrosse.
James Needs Our Help
Most recently, James' and his family's world has been turned upside down and they need our help. James developed a tumor in his leg, which was removed and biopsied. James was diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma or ARMS. This is an aggressive and highly malignant form of cancer that develops from skeletal muscle cells that have failed to fully differentiate.
James has a tough fight ahead of him. ARMS is a rare and aggressive cancer. It is likely that James will need a multidisciplinary practice involving the use of chemotherapy, radiation and possible immunotherapy. His parents and doctors are currently exploring the best treatment options and facilities for James.
We want to help the family of James Lodato. So many have asked what can we do and how can we help. The future is unknown right now, but what we do know is that they will need financial assistance. Any donation no matter how big or small will be a huge help to James and his family. It will go towards mounting medical bills, hospital stays, travel expenses, and care for James.
