Donation protected
Hey Friends,
This March, I will be returning to the wonderful country of Indonesia and the Kingdom of BGBJ, an awesome community organization and hostel at Bantar Gebang, the largest landfill in Southeast Asia and home to a community of about 3,000 families. In this challenging environment, families work to collect plastic to sell for around $2 a day. BGBJ, which translates to “ The Seeds of Bantar Gebang”, plays an important role in providing kids of the community creative outlets, fun activities, opportunities to learn new skills and languages and connects them with people around the world.
In collaboration with Global Jam 4 Peace and Make Music DC, we are going to bring music to the kids at Bantar Gebang. During my stay, we will donate the kids guitars, ukuleles, harmonicas (and whatever else we can get our hands on), provide free music lessons, and have them participate in Make Music Day 2019 with musicians across the globe!
We also want to help raise money for BGBJ and their projects. Please donate whatever you can to help BGBJ to continue to do good work. I will bring the proceeds over when I arrive in March. Your money will go towards a number of projects including, building a classroom and a workshop for their upcycling project which aims to teach youth and adults trade skills and to make products from landfill materials to assist them in gaining income, a health and nutrition program and new toilets. GJ4P and myself will be providing the musical instruments. BGBJ will see 100% of these donations.
