Pet Abuse & Domestic Abuse Recovery. Help needed!

Dear Readers, I would never imagine myself here, asking for help but my situation is so critical that I decided to reach out to you and share my story.

I had been living with my boyfriend when he started abusing my dog, Bosco. I fought hard for Bosco but was afraid to physically intervene.

I was expecting our daughter at that time and was horrified to imagine she will be a witness of Bosco’s violent beatings and tortures done by her father. I had countless conversations and pleadings with my boyfriend at that time to stop abusing Bosco. When our daughter was born it only got worse and abuse of my pet intensified.

I decided to seek help from the Family Court and asked for the Restraining order against my ex-boyfriend which was granted to me but his abuse did not stop it only got worse and worse. My ex-boyfriend started using legal system to harass and abuse and throw false allegations. He called Child Protective Services hotline reporting false child abuse. He went to police and reported his false abuse, asking to prosecute me. He called police 3 times to do wellness checks. He drove my car away and I had to buy a new car to transport the baby. He filed a false Restraining order against me in the Family Court. He filed a false contempt of his false restraining order. I withstand all his false allegations but it is living nightmare: financial and emotional and it has no light at the end of this tunnel. I fear California Family Court system as it is insanely expensive and very father-oriented. It is not acting in the best interest of the child but only acts as a tool in the hands of abuser to abuse even more and ultimately help the abuser to fulfill his goal to make a victim miserable. 

I lost all of my savings that I saved for my daughter’s college and just gave my last salary to the lawyers. Of course, my ex-boyfriend refused to pay any child support. And I just received a letter from my landlord’s attorney that he is planning to evict us. I have no funds anymore to go anywhere with my daughter and my dog. We live in California, Bay Area and unfortunately we can not move to a cheaper state or area because father will not allow us. It is so scary to loose the roof and end up on the street and keep facing these legal attacks until I loose the most precious gift, my daughter to him. And it is terrifying to think he would abuse the child the way he was loosing control with Bosco.
