Support Xúc Xích's relocation. Vietnam to UK.

Introduction:
Hello! Xin Chào! We are Sian, Grace and 2 1/2 y/o Xúc Xích, (Vietnamese for sausage - pronounced ‘Sup Sick’). We rescued her at 6 months old to stop her previous owners from selling her into the dog-meat trade. Even though her life now is much better than what would have happened, taking her to the UK would give her the best life possible!
Meet Xúc Xích:
Before we took her in, she had never been shown love, never been allowed inside, never had a bed or any toys to play with. From day one she has gone from strength to strength. Xúc Xích loves going for walks and being outside, her favourite spot is to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. She’s extremely intelligent and has learnt 10 tricks and commands.
The Harsh Reality :
The harsh reality is that dog-meat is still consumed regularly here. We were recently told that her size and breed are perfect for a one-sitting meal! We always walk her on-lead but have still been verbally abused, harassed and had someone attempt to run her over with their car. We are very limited on where/when we can walk her -we've been attacked and chased by stray dogs in the neighbourhood, poison is left in the streets and there's the very real possibility of her being stolen and sold on the black market.
We’ve managed to navigate the difficulty of owning a dog here for 2 years and planned to stay long-term. However, what tipped us over the edge was our recent trip back to the UK and seeing how much people at home LOVE dogs. We’d love to allow the three of us to go on adventures safely, where she can run freely and give us more peace of mind!
The Logistics/ what we need help with:
We are asking for help because this revelation has come as a bit of a surprise to us, we hadn’t planned on moving home anytime soon. We have started the ball rolling, but it’s a long, complicated, 4-month process. We sought the help of Asvelis Vet and Pet Relocation in Hanoi who will guide us through the specific process the UK requires.
- Step 1 - Microchipping and a fresh rabies vaccination.
- (30 day wait)
- Step 2 - Buy a travel crate.
- Step 3 - Blood test to ensure she is rabies-free.
- (3-5 week wait for blood test results)
- (3 month wait to fly after initial blood test)
- Step 4 - Final health check within 10 days of her flight.
We plan to fly to Paris, (flights to the UK require pets to fly separately as cargo and be placed into quarantine until collected) this way she can be with us every step of the way. We'll then drive back to the UK via the Eurotunnel.
Additionally, we live 72 miles away from the vets. Dogs are not allowed on public transport so we have to pay for round trips in a private taxi.
How Your Support Can Make a Difference:
Any contribution will go solely towards the costs for Xúc Xích's relocation (not our flights!), including vet fees, travel arrangements, and ensuring her comfort throughout the journey. Every donation, no matter how small will bring us one step closer to relocating her to a country of dog lovers.
Xúc Xích has improved our lives for the better, and now we want to do the same for her!
