Our mom, Edith Sheehan, needs our help. Just before Christmas, she took a fall, broke her hip, and had hip replacement surgery. This is on top of having two recent thyroid surgeries and living with Parkinson's Disease, a progressive condition affecting mobility. While she's working hard on her physical therapy and rehab at the hospital, we're working hard to make repairs and accommodations to her house so she can safely come home. She wants to age in place, surrounded by care from her large, loving family, and we need to get the house ready so she can.

Funds raised will go toward renovating her bathroom for accessibility, installing a ramp, and making crucial repairs that will enable family to move in with her so we can provide the support she needs. We have already begun work on the plumbing and other labor ourselves, and we'll continue to do as much of it on our own as we can. Still, in a house that was built in the late 1800s, it's a big expense to make it safe and accessible for Mom's disabilities.

If you know our mom, you know that she's an independent spirit who doesn't often ask for help, and you also know how much she adores her family and wants to be surrounded by her kids and grandkids. She's asking for help now so she can return to the familiar, family environment that means so much to her.

Mom and our dad, John, bought this old house over three decades ago when they decided to move to Morehead so we would all have the opportunity to attend Morehead State University while living at home. Now, Mom and this house are the center of our family gatherings with our own spouses and kids. Home and family mean everything to Mom, and she means everything to us. Please help us bring her home.
