Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge
On 13th April we will be completing the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge ( 25 miles, 1585m ascent, in under 12 hours) in efforts to raise money for a charity very close to our heart’s- Jodie’s Cyprus Dogs rehoming. Sophie will be going out to Cyprus the following week to volunteer so it will be amazing to raise as much as possible before hand.
In Cyprus many dogs are used for hunting and are either shot in the process due to lack of training or disregarded and left in the mountains to starve. Stray dogs will be poisoned, used as target practice and suffer terrible abuse. Jodie’s parents relocated to Cyprus and had started rescuing and rehoming many stray dogs. JCDR Facebook page was set up in 2013 to start bringing dogs over for rehoming in the UK as shelters are full to the brim and it is extremely hard to rehome over there.
Last year, Sophie adopted Lola (pictured) through JCDR. She is the most loyal, loving and placid girl. She was used for hunting and dumped at the shelter with her puppy. We hope to spread awareness and encourage more people to adopt and not shop, as there are so many hundreds of puppies and dogs like Lola just desperate for their forever home.
