Faith Laugier, beloved to so many, dedicated her entire life to helping others. While others could turn away from injustice or inequality or place some distance between themselves and the suffering of others, Faith simply could not do this. The pain of the poor and oppressed, the many injustices of the world, these were not mere abstractions for Faith, she FELT them all, intensely. Despite her heavy heart about human suffering, she fought back with a single-minded aim of bringing happiness and joy to others.
An incredibly creative person, writer, filmmaker, musician, composer, graphic artist, stylist and much more. Faith made the ultimate sacrifice for an artist and abandoned her personal creative pursuits and threw every fiber of her being into projects that would benefit humanity and deliver a bright and noble future to all of us. She was a key founding activist at Occupy Wall Street and co-host of the nightly Occupy Radio Show on WBAI-FM in New York. She paid the ultimate sacrifice for her activism by being arrested as a journalist at Zuccotti Park, marching for justice on the Brooklyn Bridge, etc. and won every case she brought for these illegal arrests. She was an orator and spoke on behalf of Bradley Manning even when it was not popular to do so. Many referred to Faith as The Voice of the Voiceless.
Nothing could stop Faith in these endeavors, including a terrible illness which she fought heroically against for so many years and which ultimately silenced this champion of those in most need of a champion.
Now, Faith needs your help. Friends, family members, activists and everyone who appreciated her tireless endeavors are coming together here to give Faith the full and dignified funeral a person who sacrificed everything for others truly deserves. Anything you can contribute to this GoFundMe will be tremendously appreciated.
