Shannon's journey

Hello everyone!

First, I'd like to start by introducing myself since some of the readers may not know me or my story just yet. My name is Shannon. I'm a 35-year-old single mom of two boys, Landon, 16, and Sawyer, 8. I work in banking and have for about 10 years now. I'm a LADA (Type 1.5) diabetic. I also have hypothyroidism.

Since as far back as I can remember, I have struggled with my weight. I lost around 85 lbs myself, pre-gastric bypass. In 2022, I was 273 lbs at bypass; I'm now 165 lbs.

In January, I started having significant and scary heart issues which were never taken seriously by medical personnel. I have been in and out of a minimum of 14 different doctors' offices, hospitals, and ERs in less than 5 months. I have been nauseous every day for 8 weeks now, along with having almost no hunger pain anymore. I've lost weight, I've lost significant muscle mass, I feel sick every day all day and have for 2 months now, and have struggled with my heart since January of this year. The doctors told me a few weeks ago they thought I had B-cell lymphoma cancer, so for two weeks I thought I had cancer at 35, only to find out I do not, after planning my own funeral. Tomorrow they are proceeding with what will more than likely be internal hernia repair surgery from my gastric bypass 3 years ago and I will be out of work for another 2 weeks, I have exhausted my vacation and sick time already for the whole year due to being sick so much and admitted to the hospital for so long. I do not qualify for FMLA as I've been at my current job for 9 months.

The reality is, I am getting a divorce and my husband has not helped financially in any way in quite some time. I pay $1,000 a month for our family's insurance, and I already don't make much at my banking job. I am solely financially responsible for my household and I am getting a $0.00 paycheck this week, and in 2 weeks will be getting a 60% paycheck and will then have to turn around and pay for our health insurance for 2 paychecks worth, so the whole thing will be gone. I also need to pay about $700 to fix my vehicle as I currently do not have a working car. I am a diabetic, with two kids just trying to do my best and would greatly appreciate any help anyone can provide. I should be getting normal paychecks within a month or so, but for the next month, I will have little to no income at all. Thank you for listening! And thank you for sharing and/or any help you may provide. Landon, Sawyer, and I appreciate it and appreciate you very much. God bless. ❤️
