Help Chris Heal

Chris Hanlon is my best friend. I have known him for 16 years and I owe my career as a videographer, in large part, to him. Throughout the years of our friendship, Chris has had his share of ups and downs, like all of us, but the car accident that befell him this past August has been an absolute disaster on multiple levels. Chris sustained multiple broken ribs, a punctured lung and most seriously, his pelvis was literally smashed to pieces. He underwent an extremely complicated 7hr surgery requiring 7 units of blood, where a team of surgeons laboriously reconstructed his pelvis, with the help of 15 screws, a metal plate and a lot of wire to hold it all together.

Chris has a long road ahead on the way to recover from this trauma and he will be unable to work for possibly many months. He contracted a secondary infection and is currently undergoing an 8 week IV antibiotics treatment and will probably be on oral antibiotics for the rest of his life.  He has begun a course of physical therapy that is being self administered due to his not having the funds to afford a physical rehabilitation facility.

We all know that disability payments are a fraction of our regular income and that the payments often take months to even begin. With that in mind, I decided to start this fundraising effort to help Chris with the medical and daily living expenses that are already mounting up and will only continue to do so, being that Chris is self employed and therefore doesn’t have any sick pay or other help coming to him.


This situation could happen to any one of us, so I would hope that we all understand what a difficult position Chris finds himself in both physically, emotionally and financially.
