Charity Carwash (and tie fighters, death stars and bike wash) next weekend!!
BHF London to Brighton as a test run ahead of BFS 2 ESHRE
Want to join us in making a difference? We're raising money to benefit Klinefelter's Syndrome Association, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
Now in its third year, we are once again taking on the BFS2ESHRE challenge to cycle to the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).annual meeting. Unlike Amsterdam 2024 and Paris 2025, this year the meeting is being held in London....so we've had to devise something a little different: a cycle challenge across the UK.
Half our team will set off from Newport, Wales on Thursday 2nd July, cycling east. We'll arrive in Devizes that evening, then cycle to Windsor on Friday 3rd July.
The other half our team will set off from Loughborough on Thursday 2nd July, cycling south. We'll arrive in Buckingham that evening, then cycle to Windsor on Friday.
We'll meet up on Friday night, ready for final cycle together onto the Excel conference centre on Saturday 4th July. This will include Cath and Pierre on their tandem!
We're covering about 80 miles a day! Not for the faint-hearted!
Eight of us have signed up to the 2026 challenge so far:
Bryan Woodward, X&Y Fertility Leicester
Emma Whitney, Evewell London
Mahb Rahman (ESCO)
Tony Gordon (Cooper Surgical)
Cath Drezet. Care Fertility, Sheffield
Pierre Drezet (hubby of Cath)
Suvir Venkataraman Harley Street Fertility Centre
Yealin Chung, Salisbury NHS
We'll raise funds for the Klinefelter’s Syndrome Association, a charity that supports people affected by KS/XXY.
We'd be grateful for any support on this eco-friendly of cycling challenge. Our way of travelling is better for the environment than the car, train and plane; and since pollution has been linked to infertility, we're doing our bit to reduce carbon emissions.
Donating through GoFundMe is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and you'll not receive unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the KSA. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks in advance for supporting our challenge!
More information about Klinefelter's Syndrome Association: Klinefelter's Syndrome/XXY isn't rare....but it is rarely diagnosed! An extra X chromosome affects 1 in 600 males, but 75% people are never diagnosed or get support, help or an explanation. The KSA works to raise awareness particularly amongst medical professionals and to provide support and reliable information to those affected.
The KSA runs a helpline +44(0)300 [phone redacted] and hosts a website www.ksa-uk.net as well as running an annual conference. It produces a regular newsletter and runs social events to allow those affected to meet.
