Funeral expenses for my dad

Hi, my name is Anna Davis. I am the youngest of three daughters for my dad. My dad passed away in his sleep very unexpectedly Thursday early morning. My dad had so many demons he fought daily. Between losing his mom and his sister in 92’ the day before his sisters wedding, to battling an alcohol problem for years.

January 2022 my dad made a life change. My dad stopped drinking! I didn’t think anything of it because everytime he’s stopped drinking before, it didn’t last any longer than 3 months. But this time? He stuck to it. My family and I were so ecstatic! We got to experience things with him that we never have before. We finally got to experience the things as a FAMILY. He did all the right things and made us all proud. He was the dad that we’ve always needed from him. He was the uncle my cousins needed. The brother his siblings needed. The pappy Brian my daughter, nieces and nephew needed. And he was the son that my grandfather needed. My grandfather, who just celebrated his 88th birthday, always wished he would be next. Never did we imagine that my grandfather would have to bury another child, making it 3 children and his wife in his lifetime.

My dad was an amazing person. Although he fought his demons everyday, he cared and loved his girls more than anything. Everyone he ever met knew how much he loved us.. He became the best dad and pappy Brian he could have been within this last year. My dad was such a hard worker and worked for a lumber yard most of his life. But unfortunately, he had no benefits. My family and I are asking for help. Not only does my grandfather have to bury another child, but my sisters and I have to bury our father. My family has to watch their brother and uncle get buried. My daughter, nieces, and nephew have to watch their pappy Brian get buried.

The funeral home gave us an estimate of $12,000. With him being healthy and this being so unexpected, we don’t have any money saved. I am asking for help with the funeral expenses so it can take some weight off of my family’s and I’s shoulders. I understand that times are tough so even something as little as $5 would go a long way.
