Devin Aylward is one of the strongest 17 year-olds you will ever get the pleasure of meeting. His outlook on life is so beyond inspirational; he continues to keep a positive outlook with his unfortunate situation, which is truly amazing with his circumstances. He has tremendous drive to accomplish all his dreams and aspirations. Devin has tremendous talent, he is loving to everyone he encounters, incredibly generous, and extremely hard working.
On Wednesday, June 25, 2014 Devin was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) a cancer that is found within the bone marrow. So far this summer Devin has undergone several chemotherapy treatments, and 2 bone marrow biopsies. Though his diagnosis is overwhelming and scary, Devin continues to have a positive outlook during his treatments, and believes there is worse out there. Devin's strong attitude toward this life-changing event is what keeps my family and I so incredibly strong. If you or someone you love has had to fight cancer you know the emotional, physical, and financial strain it bares. We are asking for not just your prayers but also a financial contribution so that we can cover the cost burden that comes with treatments.
Devin is a phenomenal basketball player; he plays for the Burlington High School (VT) varsity team, as well as the AAU Vermont catamounts during the summer months. Devin's number one goal is to regain the strength and ability to keep playing basketball as if he was never sick.
Our goal in creating this page is to allow Devin to be content during his 3 years of treatment and not have to worry about any expenses. We need your help.
