Daniel's Recovery

This is my friend Krisztina and her.  She and her sweet family moved to the United States from Hungary just a few years ago to provide their children with a better life.

Prior their move, she was an elementary school teacher as well as a Hungarian language and literature teacher and her husband Krisztian was an licensed electrician, painter and personal trainer.

Because they are still perfecting their English and adjusting to the move, they have had to change or modify their professions.  They work VERY hard to support their family!  Krisztina cleans homes and Kris has been painting.

They have three sons: David (15), Dominik (10) and precious little Daniel.  Krisztina was SO excited to find out she was expecting another child last April!  They whole family could hardly wait for the day he would be born.  With his room beautifully decorated and a healthy pregnancy, they had expectations of a peaceful and joyous delivery.

But, God had other plans.

Daniel was born on January 16th, 2016 via an emergency C-Section.  He was full term and weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz. Within minutes of his birth, the doctors determined a serious issue with his breathing and heart.  Daniel was quickly air-lifted 100 miles away to a special children’s hospital in Jacksonville.  Kris and Krisztina were devastated.  There was nothing they could do but worry and long for their little Daniel.

Daniel has been diagnosed with a difficult heart problem know as PDA and TGA.

Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is a condition in which the ductus arteriosus does not close. PDA leads to abnormal blood flow between the aorta and pulmonary artery, two major blood vessels that carry blood from the heart. Transposition of the great arteries (TGA) is a serious but rare heart defect present at birth (congenital), in which the two main arteries leaving the heart are reversed (transposed).  The treatment for his condition involves open heart surgery which he will undergo on January 29th.  Though his condition and surgery are alarming, the outlook is good.

The hospital has a Ronald McDonald House nearby but it is completely full.  They’re on the waiting list but for now, they have to drive back and forth every day from Daytona to Jacksonville.  Kris works as much as he can and when he’s done for the day, they travel to Jacksonville to be with Daniel.  They only have one vehicle so this also limits their time with the baby.

Fortunately, Krisztina’s brother is able to visit and help with their older son’s but that’s the only family they have in the US.

This is where they need your help….they need prayers, friends, and a little help with the extra costs associated with the travel and care for Daniel.

Krisztina has expressed her gratitude for the outreach of love and prayers from everyone on Facebook.  She said that it gives her a lot of strength and hope.  Please know that you’re making a difference just with your kind words.

This family is very modest and humble.  A lot of people have mentioned to her that they would like to help and this is what they need most right now.

If you would like to make a donation, they would be very grateful.  It only takes a minute and would truly mean the world to them!
