My Name is Kristin Rogers and I am the Director of the Manlius Senior Activity Centre. I get the pleasure of working with many amazing, selfless humans while at the Centre, but one fella has truly touched my heart.
Joesph Walker is a ray of sunshine in our community. He spends his days driving to businesses around Syracuse, collecting food that would otherwise be thrown away and bringing it to non-profits and people who can use it. I see Joe once or twice a week, when he stops by the Manlius Senior Centre to give our members some of the food he collects. We always look forward to seeing him and feeling the love that he pours into this project.
Yesterday Joe was in Syracuse passing out food when his car was hit by another driver. Unfortunately the driver did not stop, so the burden of this accident will fall squarely on Joe’s shoulders. Joe is retired and living on a fixed income. He has poured all of his extra funds into his efforts of feeding those in need. I learned today that he will
not receive any insurance reimbursements for these fixes, which is where we all come in. Please consider giving a few dollars to this fundraiser so we can encourage Joe to keep doing this amazing work.
The world needs more people like Joe in it, and this tiny fundraiser will hopefully help ease a little of his burden.
Thank you for reading and for considering donating to this man. I hope he sees that good deeds are indeed rewarded ❤️
