Help Louise Beyond Tragedy in Memory of Mo

You may have heard the news of the house fire in Crystal Lake early Sunday morning that resulted in the loss of one person’s life and sent another to the hospital. My wife, Jody, and I are dear friends of Mo Bello, who was tragically killed in the fire, and Louise Koch, who survived.

 

After being awakened by smoke detectors, Mo and Louise went downstairs to find their pantry on fire. Louise ran upstairs to get to her phone and call 911, but the fire had burned a hole in the side of their house, and caused a blast of hot, poisonous black smoke, which chased her up the stairs. She made it to her room and called 911. Ultimately, a fireman pulled her through the window, saving her life. Either Mo or firefighters saved their dog, Legend, but likely in an attempt to go back to save Louise, Mo succumbed to the poisonous smoke.

 

While no one deserves to experience the sudden loss of a loved one, some people are just too kind to see bad things happen to them at all. Louise Koch is one of those people. She has a heart of gold, and when she’s around, you can’t help but find yourself in a better mood. Coupled with the most amazingly positive and downright loving man, Mo Bello... they truly were a match made in Heaven, bringing so much joy to people in their lives, myself included.

 

That house fire took everything from Louise: all of her belongings, her home, and the most precious thing anyone could ever wish for — the love of her life. Since they never married, she is now essentially homeless, and she will need some help to get back on her feet. We ask that you give anything you can, from your heart, to help Louise get through this difficult time. Please help us let her know that she is not alone.
