BEYOND THE SEA SHORT FILM FUNDING

My name is Abigail Louise.

Those who know me, know that my love in life is Acting. Being an Actress is who I am. It's what I have always wanted to do.

I love to tell stories, embody characters and explore them inside and out.

From studying film, being behind the camera, to working on BBC and ITV productions as an Actress, I love every element of Film. The visual storytelling the performances. I just love all of it!

Back in 2019 I wrote a script intended for the stage... a script exploring mental health and the heaviness that comes with it. A story that was pushed aside and never saw the light of day... until now.

Smiling and silence... a contrast I have perfected. Not wanting to burden those around me with the storm inside my head, I have mastered wearing a mask of positivity and always projecting a positive and happy vibe. But it's not always what you see on social media... Having my own mental health journey, both the good times and the bad. This story was and still is a catharsis for me... and has sat close to my heart for so many years.

...I am now ready to bring it into the film world.

A story about a young adult named Marcus. A story about grief... friendship and silence.

I've had the pleasure over the years of working with amazing directors, working on set with talented and enthusiastic people. Through these connections i've found the perfect Director who shares the enthusiasm I have for this film, with whom I am beyond excited to be working with.

This is scary... it's something I have never done before. Writing a script, casting, finding locations and planning for something so close to myself, entrusting others to take hold of this story and run with it, make it their own.

It's a really scary process. But I know deep down when this is completed... It'll be beyond incredible...

I am funding this primarily by myself. Contributing £500 of my own money to make sure that food, travel and comfort can be provided to the cast and crew, making sure that everyone is catered for in whatever way. But £500 is only a small amount of the way to make sure this can all be met. In a perfect scenario I would absolutely love to have this as a paid production... but unfortunately I do not have the resources to provide this at this current stage. We all start somewhere, and I would like to provide as much as I can to make this a positive on set experience for all involved.

The cost of a Costa coffee can range from £3.50-£4.90, I am asking just for a small donation... even if you can only manage £1, or even 50p, to help bring this film to life. This film has a small cast and crew ranging from 10-15 people. I will be taking no financial gain from this... I am not making this film for profit... I want to do this story justice, and do what I love to do... be a part of the film industry.

If this project is lucky enough to receive more than the amount needed... all extra proceeds will be split between the cast and crew (Not myself, I genuinely don't want anything from this but the end result of this film, I would want to pay my actors and crew anything I can)

...and donated to the samaritans.
