My Name is David, and This is My Mission

I’m raising £150,000 to purchase 13 acres of agricultural land in West Wales to create a safe haven for animals and a self-sustaining permaculture food forest that nourishes both life and community.. The land itself costs £110,000, and the additional £40,000 will cover:

1. Legal and search fees (water, electricity, soil, etc.)

2.A barn for storing tools, feed, and fencing materials

3. Animal shelters and chicken coops

4.Fencing for security and land separation

5.Equipment for land preparation, rewilding, and planting

What We’re Creating

Beyond Roots & Refuge will combine three vital missions:

1. Animal Sanctuary: Rescuing and caring for abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.

2. Permaculture Food Forest: Planting apple, pear, and plum trees, grapevines, rhubarb, kiwis, sweet chestnuts, and hazelnuts creating sustainable food for animals and people alike.

3. Rewilding the Woodland: Restoring natural habitats for wildlife to thrive again.

This project is not just about land it’s about restoring balance, compassion, and purpose.

Community Impact

Beyond Roots & Refuge will serve as a learning hub and volunteer base, offering opportunities for:

Local residents, students, and eco-volunteers to join in tree planting, land restoration, and sustainable food production.
