By Robyn Jolynn - This is the only Official GoFundme page for our Dad Patrick Berky.
Amber and I don’t want to leave our Dad to be buried in a potter’s field in Mexico, but we need your help taking care of the financial expenses. Anything you can contribute will lessen the burden on us/me to make this happen, as Amber is only 16 and I don't have the resources to go it alone. I have been in contact with the US Consulate in Mexico to arrange for his death certificate and preparation for transportation stateside. Since my Dad worked for USAir/American Airlines, they just advised me they can transport his body stateside for free. I'm more comfortable going that route instead of cremation in Mexico. I'm estimating the preparation expenses in Mexico and cremation expenses here to be about $4000.
My hope is to have his body shipped to me in Missouri and have him cremated here. I would like to use a small amount of his ashes for a memorial necklace for Amber and me. I want to bring his ashes to San Pedro next year or as soon as I can and have a memorial celebration before we spread his remaining ashes, probably outside the harbor. I’m asking for help with $1000 to cover this expense.
I really don’t know what any of the final costs will be, but I promise to use any remaining funds for this purpose. It could be a wonderful reunion and would love to hear more stories.
I recently received a sweatshirt from my Dad that read "No Matter Where I Roam, San Pedro Will Still Be My Home". I know my Dad wasn't perfect but he's still my Dad, we love him and want to bring him home. Please help if you are able.
Thanks for your Love and Support.
You can find me on FaceBook at Robyn Jolynn or PM me. I'll post updates to my Dad's FB page Patrick Berky too.
My Dad's friend Brent Reid (Clapp) is helping setup this page because I'm having computer trouble right now.
