Two years ago our lovely Bex was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy followed by systemic anti-cancer therapy, but sadly in May this year discovered that the disease has spread to her bones.

When breast cancer spreads to the bones, it can be treated and managed, but sadly it isn’t something that can be cured. Bex is currently receiving ongoing treatment aimed at keeping the cancer under control, slowing its progression, and helping her live as well as possible for as long as possible. This includes treatment every two weeks to strengthen her bones, alongside targeted therapy to help manage and slow the spread of the cancer.

Bex is an absolute rock to all of us here at the Stud and is loved by so many people. Her kindness and generosity shine through in everything she does, and she is always the first to help those around her. The positivity and strength she has shown throughout her cancer journey have been truly remarkable. She continues to inspire us every day, and we would love the opportunity to give something back to her.

On Saturday 15th August, a group of Bex's friends and colleagues will be walking 30km from the Macmillan Unit at West Suffolk Hospital, where she has received most of her treatment, to The Lodge at the National Stud. Our aim is to raise enough money to send Bex and her wonderful husband Steve on the holiday of a lifetime.
