Hi! I’m Liana Montoya-Loranger, the writer and director of Bewildered. I’m currently studying Film and Digital Arts at the University of New Mexico, driven by a passion for comic books, illustration, and cinema. My dream is to bring bold, imaginative stories to life on screen. With your support, I’m one step closer to making that dream a reality!

WHAT IS BEWILDERED?

Set in 1977, Bewildered follows Terry Perkins, a young, small-town girl who enters a hit game show for the chance to win $5,000 in hopes of saving her sick father.

But the day of taping, Terry begins to unravel the horrifying truth! The show’s charismatic host, Shawn Allen, is tied to a cannibalistic cult that feeds on its contestants. Terry is given the impossible choice of joining the cult to save her father or risk being eaten herself

I have been actively working on Bewildred for 4 years! I know this story and character very well and I am very excited to finally tell this story!

Bewildered is more than a passion project, it’s my 2026 capstone for the University of New Mexico’s Film & Digital Media Arts program, a two-semester course where seniors pitch, produce, and premiere their final film.

WHO IS OUR CREW?

Bewildered will be filmed entirely in New Mexico, supporting local artists and creatives. The majority of our crew and cast consists of current and recent graduate film students from the University of New Mexico, helping launch the next generation of filmmakers!

WHAT WILL THE MONEY BE USED FOR?

Every dollar raised will help us cover crucial production costs, including:

-Set design & art direction

-Period-accurate props and wardrobe

-Location rentals

-Feeding our hardworking cast and crew

-Post-production (editing, sound, color correction, etc.)
