On her way to an art show in Minneapolis, Beverly Hayden was rear ended resulting in a concussion/traumatic brain injury (TBI).  The injury was severe enough that she was stranded in Minneapolis for a full month until she recovered enough to get home.  During that time, she couldn't drive due to her injuries and incurred over $6000 in that month alone in hotel expenses, UBER costs and medical bills.  

She was finally able to fly home this past weekend but still has at least two more months of recovery ahead of her.

Beverly makes her living exclusively as a self-employed artist, traveling around the US and exhibiting her work at art shows.  So far, she has had to cancel FOUR shows due to her ongoing symptoms - extreme fatigue, headaches and head pressure, brain fogginess and confusions (feels much like when you wake up in the middle of the night after taking a sleeping pill and your brain just doesn't work right), extreme sensitivity to light and sound, great difficulty processing information, limitations in cognitive function and difficulty making decisions.   She has vision problems which affect her ability to drive more than 20 minutes and diminish her capacity for face to face conversations, both are key in her ability to get to and sell at art shows.

Not only has she lost income from those shows, she also has lost the sizable booth fees from cancelled shows.  At this time she is also unable to create her usual work.  She has a rigorous fall art fair schedule with 4 shows booked in four different states.  Her doctors don't know yet whether she will be able to do these shows.  With further show cancellations will come loss of non-refundable booth fees and income.

This money would help recover lost income - past and future - to pay monthly bills, medical costs, physical therapies not covered by insurance, and all of the other unknowns that could show up in her life
