Beva's Kidney Donation Journey

My amazing husband, Beva Leyerly, is very possibly going to become a living kidney donor this summer. A couple of months ago, a potential recipient who we do not know personally came to our attention. There are some very specific criteria for the donor, and Beva meets those criteria.

Beva has gone through several screenings in Colorado Springs since April. The results of these screenings indicate that he is a potentially viable donor. The next step is to fly to Dallas in two to three weeks, where he will undergo very intensive daylong testing at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Should the outcome of the testing prove he is indeed a viable donor, the final step will be him becoming a living kidney donor!

While the recipient's insurance pays for 100% of Beva's medical expenses, it does not cover cost of travel associated with testing and surgery. As such, we are fundraising to cover travel costs (flight, hotel, food, Uber) for our trip(s) to Dallas. Any amount raised that exceeds what we need will be donated to a living donor organization.
