Help Veterans Paddle in New York
Our Malama Na Koa Program proudly supports and provides services to Soldiers who are transitioning from the Army through the Warrior Transition Battalion Hawaii, Wounded and Ill Service Members, and Veterans through its adaptive sports program. The adaptive sports program provides free paddling lessons and coaching through its Volunteer program and the use of all equipment. Its purpose is to assist in the therapeutic and rehabilitative efforts of the individual through Outrigger Canoe Paddling while taking in consideration of their injuries or conditions.
Malama Na Koa is currently running a health awareness initiative for 2016 to showcase three racing crews of Wounded Service Members and Veterans in the 2016 Hawaiian Airlines Liberty Challenge in New York to show the benefits of the program and expose the benefits of Outrigger Canoe Paddling for recovering Service Members and Veterans. The intent is for these crews to race 15 miles on the Hudson River in New York amongst some of the elite canoe teams around the world.
Malama Na Koa asks for your support in helping us fund our goal with your generous donation going towards canoe rental fees, race entry fees, and offset of flight expenses from Hawaii to New York,.
Mahalo Nui Loa for all your support!
