Between War and Resilience: Nael and his family need you!

My name is Nael Ali Odeh Abu Sbeitan. I’m a Palestinian lawyer and civil rights activist from Gaza. I dedicated my life to defending the marginalized and voiceless, believing that dignity is a right for all.

But since the war began on October 7, 2023, everything changed. My office was destroyed. I lost my job. My only source of income vanished.

Today, I live with my extended family – 23 people – under one overcrowded roof, forcibly displaced, with no income, no aid, and no safety. We survive day by day, struggling through hunger, fear, and the complete lack of basic necessities.

Waking up every morning to the cries of hungry children... being unable to provide milk for an infant, medicine for your mother, or a blanket to fight off the cold – this is a pain beyond words. And this is our daily reality.

Who are we?

My elderly parents, Ali and Ibtisam, both suffering from chronic illnesses.

My aunt Fadiya, an elderly unmarried woman who depends entirely on us.

My three brothers: Mohammed, Ayman, and Ibrahim – two of whom are married.

My four sisters: Islam, Amani, Yareen, and Rawand – two of whom are also married.

My brothers' wives – both pregnant, one of whom recently gave birth under dangerous conditions.

My brothers’ children: Ali, Basma, and Wateen.

My sisters’ children: Hamza, Ali, Obaida, Ghazal, Jihad, Mohammed, and Mira.

What do we need?

Infants in urgent need of formula and diapers.

Pregnant and nursing women lacking medical care.

Elderly family members needing critical medications.

No stable access to food, clean water, electricity, or warmth.

That’s why I’m launching this campaign – with a heartfelt plea for your support.

Our Goal: 300,000 Norwegian kroner (around 28 800 dollars).

To secure the bare minimum for survival and dignity, distributed as follows:

Daily essentials (food, water, cooking gas): $8,500

Infant and child care: $5,000

Medical care and medications: $4,500

Rent or securing safe shelter: $5,500

Emergency needs (transportation, urgent health cases): $3,000

Winter supplies, mattresses, blankets: $2,300
