David and I are no strangers to suicide and depression. It has ravaged our own lives, those in our families, and those in our community. At one point this year, there were so many suicides that we were almost desensitized to the news... here we go again. Sadness turned to anger and anger turned to action.
We have to do something.
David wrote an incredible song about a saint who was approached by a woman worried about her loved one being in Heaven after he had lost his life to suicide. The saint prayed for a moment and said... between the bridge and the river, he was saved.
This song is about that encounter.
We were shocked at how many views our live, rough video received on Facebook without any boosting of any kind. It confirmed for us how important this ministry is.
We need to raise this money by JANUARY 2019—
We want to record the song professionally and turn it into a music video. This will be a free ministry and we don’t want to make any money off of it. We surrendered our finances to the Lord a long time ago and we never turn down events because of money as long as travel is covered —because with five kids we have zero disposable income!!
We have already committed to getting this done in January, taking time off of work and traveling to Michigan and Ohio. We are stepping out in faith that we will have what we need to get this ministry done!!
We plan to work with Catholic filmmaker, Thomas Shannon, and Music Producer, Mike Ofca of Innovation Studios.
This ministry is so close to our hearts and we are passionate about saving lives in the only way we know how — through the message of God’s love and mercy even in the midst of suffering, and the fact that He suffered anguish, fear, abandonment, humiliation, abuse, isolation, too. But the suffering is not the end— there is hope. There is help out there. And there is life!!
