The Between the Acts Project (BTAP) is a new nonprofit organization dedicated to the development, creation, production, and presentation of theater, performance art, and other public humanities experiences.
We humbly ask for your help in getting BTAP up and running. Your donations will support purchases and rentals of equipment/materials/spaces, stipends for artists and performers, and administrative expenses.

THE FOUNDERS
Kara Hadden (she/her) is a playwright, dramaturg, director, performer, and student currently taking time off at Williams College. At Williams, Kara majors in Theatre and History with a concentration in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. She holds particular interests in oral history, archival intervention, and arts-based activism, and she has experience researching the coming out narratives of lesbian-identifying people, gender/sexual representation in film and television, and the portrayal of underrepresented groups in mainstream history. In general, Kara is passionate about art which explores such topics as generations, history-making, queerness, identity, and intimacy.
Jack McAuliffe (he/him) is a director, dramaturg, and theatermaker from the Boston area. A recent graduate of Yale University with a BA in Theater Studies, Jack develops and stages new plays, reinterprets classic works, and crafts interdisciplinary performances. His inquiry-driven creative work is concerned with questions and issues of selfhood, morality, and human connection that underlie our socio-political realities and ways of life. In addition to his theatrical work, Jack’s interests include oral history, experimental literature, and philosophy. His prior professional experience includes work in arts administration, oral history, and public humanities, including Research Assistant positions with the Atomic Heritage Foundation and the Fortunoff Archive for Holocaust Video Testimony.
