Between Departures is a narrative film that tells the story of two former lovers. They wake up at a set of abandoned train tracks, at a stop of their remaining love. Their names are Dakota and Marie. Dakota is a drifter, blue collar kinda guy who leads what many would call a very “traditional life.” Marie is a grad student in pursuit of her PHD. Her studies and ambition lie in helping the masses through creating community planning programs. They each meet new people and we watch their new love unfold through vignettes that we will crosscut in between the track scenes.

Between Departures wants to explore breakups and showing the beauty of them, through the growth of the characters. We are aiming to show an audience that the love one holds for a past partner is normal. And to heal is to not forget your past, but to accept that they are a part of you forever.

This is a film we are very excited for, and has a great crew assembled around it, but we need your help. We are looking to raise $2600 for the production of Between Departures.
