Betty's Journey to the Jr. Olympics
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Kierstin Koopman. I skate for Jersey Junior Roller Derby, where I am better known as BabyBetty. I'm not sure how well you know me, but if you know me well, you know how important roller derby is to me. When I was in third grade, my mom joined Jersey Shore Roller Girls. I saw that roller derby was this cool, exciting thing that very quickly became a big part of my life. After several years of me begging and nagging, my mom started Jersey Junior Roller Derby, the summer before my freshman year. I am now captain of the travel team, and have been for the past almost four years. I put as much time as possible into being the best skater that I can be. Recently, my teammate Alix Knice (Missy Mayhem) and I were offered a position in the inaugural Junior Olympic Roller Derby Games. This will be held July 11-14, 2016 in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is dream come true but it is also very expensive. I am looking for sponsors to help curb our travel and food expenses. I am also hoping to be able to secure the funds for equipment upgrades and additional training opportunities if available.
